Robert Jones
MPP Student
Robert Jones is a Master of Public Policy student at the University of Chapel Hill, focusing on social and economic policy. His interest in social and economic policy stems from growing up in rural North Carolina and seeing the linkage between economic factors and social outcomes for citizens. Robert aspires to work with firms, governments, and foundations to secure economic stability for all. When he is not studying public policy and social issues, he enjoys spending time with friends and attending concerts.
Zakiya Smith
Business Administration: Marketing and Entrepreneurship, N.C. Central University
Zakiya Smith recently obtained her Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from North Carolina Central University. Her passion for innovating economic development in her hometown, Durham, NC, has led her to explore new opportunities in development and redevelopment for other counties in North Carolina. Her goal is to identify and innovate policies that promote economic progress for people of color
Stewart Roessler
Business Administration
Stewart Roessler is a rising sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Stewart is currently majoring in History with a minor in Spanish for the Professions and plans to apply to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School this fall. As a history major, he’s drawn to understanding our past from different perspectives and seeks to learn more how historical events have created inequities. As a business major, he hopes to learn how he can help solve these inequities.

Victoria Neff is a recent graduate of UNC’s inaugural MPP cohort. Her graduate education focused on environment and human welfare. Victoria is interested in the role of public policy in addressing issues of environmental, social, and economic justice within marginalized communities.
