Robert Cole
Graduate UNC Master of Public Policy program
Robert Cole is a graduate of the UNC Master of Public Policy program with a focus on labor and education policy. Robert earned a BA in Political Science and Public Policy, also at UNC. He is interested in studying the interaction of labor policy and economic development in North Carolina.
Yude Wu
Undergraduate majoring in Economics and Management and Society
Yude Wu is a rising sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in Economics and Management and Society. With plans to purse public health research, Yude aims to deepen her knowledge in business management and develop strategies to address economic and social challenges. Through her studies, Yude is dedicated to exploring innovative solutions that can promote equitable economic growth and sustainable development.
Shyla Miller
Graduate UNC Master of Public Policy program
Shyla Miller is a recent graduate of UNC’s second cohort of MPP graduates. Her graduate education focused on the environment and human welfare, with a particular focus on sustainability and conservation. She is interested in the role public policy plays in balancing environmental protection and economic development within rural communities.
Isabelle Potts
UNC Masters of Public Health
Isabelle Potts is a current MPH student at UNC studying Global Health. After graduating from UNC in 2016 with a B.A. in Global Studies and African, African American and Diaspora Studies, she began a 7-year career as a teacher. As a teacher, Isabelle was interested in the inextricable link between student success and public policy. Isabelle’s focus as an MPH student is motivated by the desire to make communities more accessible and inclusive by advancing policy and improving community safety and wellbeing.
Betsy Norwood
MPP Student
Betsy Norwood is a 2024 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. During her time in the MPP, Betsy’s studies focused on environment and human welfare. Being from a small, rural town in the North Carolina mountains, Betsy is interested in how policy can be used to improve rural communities.
Alexander West Heffner
Undergraduate Economics and Public Policy + Geography
Alex Heffner, a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill, studies Economics, Public Policy, and Geography. Committed to addressing economic and social challenges, he is passionate about impact investing, community development, and environmental stewardship. Through his work at the UNC Impact Investing Fund, Alex strives to foster equitable economic growth and sustainable development, aiming to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Isabelle DeCamillis, a recent graduate from UNC with a Master of Public Policy, specializes in behavioral health, the opioid epidemic, and the justice system, with a focus on implementing innovative local policy solutions to address these critical issues in impacted communities. Isabelle aspires to support local governments as a consultant in successfully implementing effective policies.
